"Qualcosa che vale la pena
vale la pena aspettorla"
Something worth having
is worth waiting for

Our Story

Inatteso Cafe Casano is the result of generations of family traditions, most recently the ones created by sisters-in-law Donna Sorrentino and Susan Viola. Jeanette Scibelli, the third person in this venture and our lifelong friend became very ill unexpectedly and we lost her far too soon. She remains today our missing piece.

Our homes were the ones everyone wanted to be at for holiday meals. Cooking food that tastes and feels good and presenting it with love, care and beauty always came naturally to us and were things we enjoyed. After our children grew up and left the house to start their own lives, we took a leap of faith and accepted an opportunity to expand our passion beyond our homes.

It all started when the opportunity arose for us to open a cafe. We looked at each other and without hesitation left our careers behind and started on the journey to create what is now Inatteso Cafe Casano.

Once the espresso machine was installed, we opened our doors on Friday the 13th of February 2009. Clueless to how to use the machine or computer, our customers soon became aware that they may have to wait a little, but the outcome would be worth it. Hence our saying "something worth having is worth waiting for."

Inatteso means "unexpected." A word that couldn't be more perfect to represent not only the opportunity, but the style in which we deal with food. We have a menu, but that doesn't limit us to the items offered on any given day. We encourage our patrons to express their food desires and do our best to accommodate them. Inatteso will always allow us to be creative, and have fun because that's the way we want it.

For us food, family and love are all intertwined and are at the heart of what we do. We invite you to visit, and see, taste and feel for yourself what we are all about.
